108. Another opinion

Long time lurker, never posted before. My opinion, for as little as it is worth. I think until we figure out how to drive the narrative like the right-wing media can we are going to struggle. Look how many right wing sources they have online, podcasts, streaming, social media, I don't think we are pushing the message to where the middle of the road voters are. Once their talking point is created the messaging is intense. Personally I look at Joe as one of our better presidents, but the messaging killed him, figuratively speaking. All the gas pump "I did that" stickers, the constant drumbeat that hes too old, in decline, it was just a hill too hard to climb. Since they run the narrative that is why so much of Trump just got buried, public opinion, did not match reality, but that doesn't matter when so many sources are consistently saying the same thing. I do think secondarily it may have been a mistake to put so much on trying to reach Repubs, yes L Cheney did some good things , I think the Repub we have now have already run off the moderates and by shifting center to try to attract them, I think she ended up losing some on the left. I guess in analysis, someone smarter than me will be able to say if that strategy won more votes or pushed more away. I am getting to be older, turn 49 in a week, but I think we need to really shift how we think about things to try to reach people in this day and age. It seems like a lot of our tactics are getting stale for the modern world. I believe if we were better at the messaging it would be a landslide since in almost every way, I think the Democratic platform and positions benefit a larger percent of the public. Misogyny and racism can be a factor, but I don't think that covers all the lost votes, I do not believe the average person is racist, I think most people at the core are good and just trying to make the decisions they believe to be best for them and their families, just we are not getting them the facts to counter all the misinformation. We need more people like Buttigieg and Newsome to counter the points but they cannot do it along. Anyway, that is my take for what it is worth/not worth.
