70. I don't like the term, "Christian nationalists."

What they REALLY are are Christian Reconstructionists, and they are scary as all get-go. They are followers of the crackpot R.J. Rushdoony (1916-2000), who was somebody who couched his fascist, John Birch Society notions in religious garb and has been wildly successful and influential, much to the detriment of Christianity as a whole.

These people want to completely revamp our society and make Old Testament law apply to a modern, secular society. Real theologians consider the movement heresy, but that hasn't stopped these crackpots. They want the death penalty for all kinds of things: adulterers, LGBTQ and the rest, even children who are "incorrigible." By the time they would get done with all the executions, there literally wouldn't be anybody left. Oh, and they also want a return to slavery. House Speaker Mike Johnson is one of these CRs.

In these crackpots' minds, they think if they can force theocracy on a secular society and all societies all over the world, that somehow Jesus will return. It doesn't dawn on them that they are completely wrong.

However, it is really the fascism they want. Enslaving women is central to it. They are big on "homeschooling" not because of the kids but because it is a way to force women into the home.
