2024 in person voting was off the charts.
2020 was A LOT more absentee votes. (Covid)

So it FELT like a monster turnout. I was there and can tell you poll workers were exhausted. However, when the dust settled, the total vote count was down 13%.

I live in deep red Ohio. Trump's total vote count was down by 1000s. The % of Dem votes went up slightly, but not enough.
5% of Trump voters also voted for Sherrod Brown.

That's just for my N. of Cincy county. Probably not an abstract of the nation so take it for what little it is worth.
