(1,890 posts)She's close to 60 and I value her opinion because she is extremely intelligent and has a PHD so I asked her the other day if Pete could win and she said no. I agree with her. We have enough misogyny and racism that sunk KH...but Homophobia? It's off the GD hook folks. No to Pete, I love him but no. The homophobia would sink him but he's similar to Kamala in that he's an intellectual.
So you say, but they're both extremely qualified, some would say overqualified...what's the problem? I see it as a TON of voters aren't overly bright and feel threatened by certain intellectual politicians. Call it the 'dumbing down' of America if you will. They like Trump because he's on their level folks. Sad but true. I like Shapiro or Kelly as they're wicked smart too. So for NOW that leaves me with Walz. He's an 'every person' kinda guy and has shown the ability (albeit on a smaller level) of appealing to many demographics of voters. I know my opinion won't be popular but I believe it to be true folks. I've been voting since 1988 and at the end of the day it's a popularity and likeability contest more than anything else. It's sad but true.
