Go to YouTube or look for podcasts. There are many choices and lots of them are legitimate.

News radio has died in America. The radio business gave up on in-depth news because it couldn't support the service with advertisements. There was not enough of an audience and since all media live or die on the size of their audiences, news radio is a thing of the past. Just recently, the all-news station WCBS-AM in NYC went off the air after some 55 years as a leader in radio news because they couldn't get enough of a demographically desired audience for advertisers.

TV news suffers from the same problem, that is, it has to sell advertising time in order to stay in business. Since the mass of people don't want hard news, we get the "happy news" broadcasts and the stupid news talk shows like The Five or Morning Joe.

The grand tradition of journalism was in print. The modern version is the internet, of course.

Yet if you want the passive reception of news, you'll have to search for better outlets than you'll find in the MSM. I suggest the Guardian as a good starting point. The good news commentaries on YouTube are also exceptional.

Good luck!
