Those are great for many but not so great for teens and many 20 somethings. Sometimes depression can also depress the impulse to take action. For the younger set, lessening the depression with meds lifts their energy level enough that they decide to take action. Sadly, that does not always end well.

Had a psychologist pal who lost a patient to suicide after the psychologist put the young man on anti-depressants. My pal was devastated to the point that our circle of friends kept one of us with him for several weeks.
