21. Using Ketamine at sub-anesthetic doses is an off label use

Ketamine has been approved by the FDA for decades. It has been shown to help treatment resistant depression when other antidepressants have failed, PTSD and chronic pain.

If you take a daily aspirin to prevent strokes, that's an off label use as well. It's unlikely that Ketamine will ever be approved to treat depression because it's now generic and quite inexpensive, therefore pharmaceutical companies aren't going to spend millions of dollars on double blind studies. However they have developed and gotten approval for a chemical cousin, esketamine (marketed as Spravato).

I have plenty of issues with Musk, but if he's using Ketamine under a doctor's care, I have no issues with it. Personally, it's been life changing for my treatment resistant depression.
