(2,953 posts)Prior to the election, I was a regular viewer of CNN and MSNBC. I tuned in frequently, drawn to their coverage of the political landscape and the promise of informed analysis. However, in the aftermath of the election, Ive come to realize that much of their programming consists of talking heads who seem more focused on fostering an informal back-and-forth rather than engaging in meaningful debate or thoughtful examination of critical issues.
This realization has been disheartening, as it seems weve entered a new era where logic and reason are increasingly devalued in favor of sensationalism and entertainment. The media, instead of challenging ideas or fostering a deeper understanding, often prioritizes soundbites and performative discussions. This shift reflects a broader trend in public discourse, where emotional appeals and polarized rhetoric overshadow evidence-based arguments and nuanced dialogue.
