The company is a huge data mine with little content control that China accesses without any restrictions. All Bytedance had to do was sell it to a non-Chinese owner. They had a year to do it and never made any attempt. There is a NatSec reason for that too.

I like TikTok but won’t cry if it disappears just like losing thousands of followers and a real community on X didn’t crush me either.

Its more frustrating that anyone would lose their shit over this or that platform (and especially that platform tbh) when actual human rights like reproductive rights get a “meh”
