40. In my opinion

Biden's lackluster performance during the debate had several causes.
He had been globe trotting the previous to the debate, trying to deal with REAL PRESIDENTIAL PROBLEMS, and was likely tired as anyone would be.

The biggest problem with his performance, was his preparation crew, not preparing him for Trump to use an infamous Debate Technique, which was well known, called GISH GALLOP. This nepharious technique unscrupulously used in debating has been known for decades. Trump was most known using this technique in past performances, but was coached to ratchet it up to a high level with Biden.......Biden's team should have prepared him for it, just in case it was utilized, recognize it, dismiss it, and the team should have prepped him for a counter offense.

It falls under: "If you can't dazzle them with Brilliance, Baffle them with bullshit" That has has been the Republican Mantra ever since Ike. In the case of Trump during the debate, Trump was prepared with an overwhelming tsunami of bullshit the likes of which had never been seen/used before.
Being stunned by it, due to being exhausted from being stressed with world matters and Jet Fatigue, and no prep, he was vulnerable to this nasty debate technique used by his opponent.
