(6,670 posts)What?! Are you insinuating that Chuck Schumer would be complicit in any of those things? Is it meant to be a warning because someone believes that he might be willing to sacrifice his principles?
Please, tell me... what good purpose is being served for anyone insinuates such things? Does anyone truly believe that Schumer wants to privatize Medicare; subvert the constitution; build a wall; persecute Muslims; line Trump's pockets; destroy the environment; sell National parks; eliminate the minimum wage; slash education funding; violate the Geneva Convention, etc etc etc.
It doesn't take a genius to realize how silly that sounds, does it? Better yet, I wonder if anyone realizes how insulting it is? Shitting on our party leaders like this and insinuating that Democrats are incompetent or complicit (or willing to be) does not help anything.
Actually it HURTS Democrats and suppresses the vote for Democrats.
Why would anyone do or say such things about party leadership? Does anyone honestly believe that Schumer does not support voter rights? Is there a genuinely held belief that he needs to be lectured about it, or that he needs to be "warned" and "dissuaded" from doing anything to suppress votes?
Does anyone truly think that Schumer is too crooked (or too gullible, or cowardly) that he would end up being complicit in eliminating the ACA and denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions?
>> He's been making work together noises.
What does this mean? Can you be more specific? Which of these things has Schumer indicated that he's flexible on? What has Schumer said or done that alarms you?
Or could it be, instead, that he's indicated a desire to find common ground and work together on things that everyone can agree on? Explain to me what's wrong or objectionable about anyone wanting to find common ground on ways to improve our nation's safety, health, welfare and happiness.
Schumer's willingness to "work with" Republicans tells me that he will continue to work for the things he values and believes in. What a shame it is that his words and intent is being twisted in mendacious ways just so that cheap pot-shots and backhanded insults can be hurled in his direction.
I think we can do better than needlessly smearing Democratic leadership with some sort of imagined fear that they are willing accomplices to the GOP treachery and evil. I think everyone should try to be better than that.
Attack Republicans, not Democrats. It's not too much to ask, is it?
