In reply to the discussion: A Freeper Troll outs himself [View all]Jim Lane
(11,175 posts)40. How to survive as a troll on FR
I've been there for a few years now. Mainly I find some point on which there's internal disagreement among the Freepers. That gives me the cover to attack at least one RW position.
The primaries were good for that. Under the guise of explaining why the Muslim socialist Kenyan impostor could most likely be beaten by Nutjob Candidate A, you could criticize Nutjob Candidates B and C. And, of course, Romney was a free-fire zone until he clinched the nomination.
One other tip: Keep your posts short. The average post length over there is about ten words. To adduce facts and explain reasoning in support of your position would probably mark you as a troll. Just pronounce your opinion, in extreme terms (NO nuance please), and move on.

This OP needs editing for clarity, to make clear that the troll was on another domain, not here.

The logic the Freepers use in that thread for *MORE* guns reminds me of a place I've visited...

I tried to do that for a while. If found it really difficult to pretend to be stupid all the time.
