For many in the DC-area flying community, the crash tonight wasnt a matter of if, but when.
DC airspace is some of the most congested in the world, with helicopters and jets forced into a small operating area.
Doesnt exactly help that the Army uses it as a training ground.
The Potomac VFR is insanely busy with Army helicopters, Park Police, other associated agency helicopters, and DC Police helicopters.
Seen here, a US Army UH-60 flying at low altitude up the Washington Channel, just adjacent to DCA.
