The few I have answered on a whim have been trying to help me improve my Medicare coverage (don't qualify for another few years).
As for how they may be getting your number: they simply start with an area code (123), followed by whatever is the first three numbers of the phone number, and then start at 1 and have a computer generate the list. Example: (123)456-0001, (123)456-0002, and so on.The callers then start simply dialing numbers. The lists might be split up among a number of callers. Since the list is generated in numerical order, it doesn't matter if your number is listed or unlisted.
