Tell me you don't descend from Enslaved Americans without telling me point blank you do.

The focus on the children of undocumented residents born in the USA is the shiny object and a distraction. Is it horrific? Absolutely.

However, the 14th is what assigned humanity to my ancestors on my father's side of the family.

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

There is more at stake for me and the intergenerational wealth handed down from my great great grandfather buying his first 100 acres where our family had been enslaved on since 1832 in Alabama. His grandfather had been "sold down the river" from Virginia.
