there are three companies that do Credit reports:
Equifax
Experian
TransUnion

Now that Musk has access to everyone's information, including Social Security numbers, they have probably already been sent to outsides with nefarious intent.

Freezing your credit will stop them from opening credit cards and other financial accounts in your name.

Seems I have to elaborate. Of course Musk is not going to scam your credit card, but the people now with total access to the Payment office are unqualified with no security clearance., The GSA employees have been frozen out.
That data is no longer secure, it will be out in the world.
