You may not like that, but that's why it reads as if it's normal. However, anyone who reads the NYT can understand what's not being said.

The OP is claiming that "news outlets" aren't covering it at all. This is incorrect. Unless he's saying newspapers aren't "outlets" and means daytime MSNBC and CNN.
