Forcible transfer aka ethnic cleansing was not a part of the deal. It was supposed to be a negotiated, agreed upon mutual transfer of populations. And respect for partitioned territorial boundaries. Also not given by Israel, which took more land by force that was meant for Palestine and has been dispossessing and taking more and more Palestinian land ever since.

Did the almost million Jews become eternal refugees or were they given a homeland? Are they and their descendents citizens, not stateless?

Nothing is a wash. It remains a terrible injustice. As for Trump's plan, all people of good conscience should be clearly stating their dismay and disgust. Yet Israelis and supporters are not. Not shocking to me, but I hope it's opening some sleepy eyes.
