(1,492 posts)We need Winston Churchill not Neville Chamberlain. I would note that only about 3 percent of the population actually fought in the Revolutionary War. Modern warfare is different of course, but the principle is the same. And this is more like the Revolutionary War or the Civil War as it is an internal conflict. So you make a good point. We defeated the tyranny of King George in the 18th century. We defeated the Confederates in the 19th century. We defeated the Nazis in the 20th century. There is no reason to think that we can not defeat the MAGA Fascists in the 21st century. Defeatism is a self fulfilling prophecy. If you think that you are going to lose, you definitely will. We need to summon the great fighting spirit of those that came before us. We have won before, we can win again. I would rather go out fighting than live on my knees.
