It isn't necessary for AI to take over agencies. They are firing workers to create the urgency for giving Musk (and Trump getting kickbacks) big contracts to develop AI systems that ostensibly would replace people.

So far, Musk hasn't created any AI that actually achieves anything he has ever promised. But it doesn't have to work, With Tesla, the promise that it will eventually work was good enough for him to suck $200 billion out of the shareholders.

It isn't as if most big Pentagon contracts end up producing what was ordered. That's not the game. The game is to produce enough to get the contract.

And it should also be mentioned that there are other ways to monetize the data they are stealing, but that's for another thread another day.

It is also worth noting that Musk tried to extort an even bigger pay package out of Tesla shareholders by threatening to take his AI projects and run. But he did exactly that anyway, didn't he?
