It's more plausible and not at all revelatory that owners of AI also know that AI can be dangerous to their children's futures, not to mention humanity's. The rest of AI owners don't share this outlook on the US government, and would refuse to be dragged into this setup, even if military contracts helped build Silicon Valley.
