(37,880 posts)35. I only have been to Madrid once, on business, with my boss, and given the choice, went to see Guernica again.
I had seen it many times when it was in New York at the Modern and at ground level.
At Museo Reina Sofía they had it displayed high above reach, I guess to deter vandals from another attack on it, but it reduced the powerful effect one had upon seeing it in New York.
If I ever get back to Madrid, which I doubt, I'll check out the Prado and Bosch. Unfortunately, as you note, Bosch is coming to the real world.
