167. Dreams, Imagination, and the National Psyche

Years ago, the National Dream Center monitored what people were dreaming by asking them to email what they saw during their slumber. The NDC was attempting to correlate patterns and define the zeitgeist.

In Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man, one of the sci-fi tales is about the entire population all having the same dream one night of the world ending. Since everybody saw it, the dream must come true.

Once I invented a card game in one of my dreams. When I awoke I asked my wife to grab a deck of cards and sure enough, we tested the game and it worked. Nowhere else can I find this game in Hoyle's or wiki. Similarly, I wrote a mystery short story after one of my dreams.

No matter how powerful AI becomes or how powerful Felon Musk wants AI to be, unless they can tap into mankind's infinite imagination or its dreams, humans have the edge.
