Happiness in others is distressing to religious conservatives, and other scolds. You're only supposed to feel better when you have exhaustively confessed all your filthy sins and general unworthiness to God, preferably in front of them. Appearing to be having a good time is a sure sign that the Wikkidniss is afoot! Happy feelings that accompany sexual fulfillment and intimacy which were not obtained according to the strict requirements of -or in some cases under the direct supervision of- religious authorities, are the worst kinds of Wikkidniss of them all. When you smile, therefore, they know you must be up to no good.
