In psychiatric and psychological circles, it is widely believed that an individual who uses "crude" language, is essentially more honest than those who parse their words more carefully.
As an old GI, I can cuss with the best of them, generally speaking, however, I adjust my speaking and writing to the audience I am addressing. It takes most people a split second to make a decision as to what they are hearing or reading, using "crude" language can stop that decision-making in its tracks. Those who are offended, will almost always seize on what they consider offensive, and the message following the word will become muddled, there is a tendency to "zero in" on the word used, missing the portion of the message that follows.
Generally speaking, I don't mind the use of almost any word.
Another caveat: I do not tolerate any language that demeans or attacks any person or group.
