(5,133 posts)My point was attack him for the things he does, not the thing he is. Because when you attack him for what he is, you are also attacking all the other people who are that thing and who haven't harmed anyone, didn't vote for him either, and didn't cause any of that pain or rage that you are now spraying at them as well.
And enough with calling anyone who disagrees with you a "scold" to avoid having to confront the actual arguments they are making which you don't have any real answer to.
Calling autistic people "weird", "plastic", "artificial", "emotionless" and "robotic" sucks and is bullying behaviour towards a vulnerable community that is constantly bullied and faces shocking rates of social exclusion, dissociation, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and suicide rates as a result.
Accusing disabled people of faking a hidden disability (while also somehow attacking them for displaying all of the common outward features of that disability) with no evidence is gross and ableist. It discourages people who are unsure and questioning their potential diagnosis from seeking that diagnosis and from feeling comfortable sharing it with others after they get it for fear they will be accused of malingering or faking it for attention. Which delays their opportunities to seek interventions that could improve their quality of life.
There are half a dozen people in the fraction of this thread that I could even bring myself to read who are actually doing that so I'm not sure where you've drawn your conclusion from that "there's not a person on this board who would do that" but you don't have to look very far to disabuse yourself of that notion if you're willing to be honest, open your eyes, and try to see things from someone else's perspective.
