TSMC Not take over Intel [View all]

My Take: TSMC which is a Taiwanese company, owns the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing process and technology. Intel (USA) comes 2nd. It is to the national security interest that we maintain our technology competitiveness through Intel and/or catch up to or acquire the advanced process technologies TSMC has . With China’s aggressiveness in Asia and threatening to invade Taiwan, it is unthinkable that they would take over the world’s most advanced semiconductor company should they invade Taiwan. With Intel currently struggling, the appeal of TSMC acquiring or taking over Intel operations have some positive benefits - technology transfer and moving its advanced semiconductor plants to the US, or increased likelihood that the US will help defend Taiwan’s (with this administration you cannot rely on that)
