In reply to the discussion: LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON ANTISEMITIC PROTESTS IN BOROUGH PARK [View all]lapucelle
(21,066 posts)38. Sounds to me like the cops did their job.
Two days before the protest:
As unease spread about the upcoming protest, officials at the NYPDs 66th Precinct made plans to create a frozen zone around the event, and shared details about other safety restrictions with schools in the affected are. Despite those measures, a decision was made to cancel the event, followed by another to relocate the event. The expo will be taking place instead at Brooklyn Square, located in a more industrial section of Boro Park at 36th Street and 14th Avenue, according to former Assemblyman Dov Hikind.

At the end of the protest:
As the anti-Israel group headed toward a subway station, NYPD Deputy Chief Richie Taylor, the highest-ranking Orthodox Jewish police officer in the city, urged neighborhood residents to not follow them any longer.
Theres no reason for it. Theyre leaving, he told a crowd of young men.
The NYPD said one man had been arrested for assault.

The real estate group holding the expo was not offering holdings in disputed territories.

What's your point? The antisemitism was disgusting even if Pal-Awda was mistaken about the event.

If it doesn't matter that they are selling stolen land then why did you try to point out that they weren't doing it?

If the truth can be known, we may be surprised to know exactly who these people are. Why at this time?
