(4,527 posts)Hamas told Israel in November 2023 the Bibas family were killed in an Israeli airstrike. They offered to return the bodies and release their hostage father to attend their funeral.
Instead, Netanyahu chose to torment the father and the Bibas family in Israel for 15 more months. Why? Why would he merely say it was a psyop and ignore Hamas' claim, rather than call their bluff and say ok, return them if they are dead?
The answer lies in who Netanyahu and his deranged right-wing Ministers are, and what they wanted to accomplish in Gaza.
Those innocent children, their lives and their deaths were weaponized and continue to be as we will now see a resumption of Israel's murder of innocents.
That - to me at least - is horrific.
The children were "brutally murdered", without a doubt. Whether by indiscriminate bombing - as were the 18,000 Palestinian children - or by Hamas, is a question Israel will never allow us to independently, impartially answer and verify.
We can agree that it was inhuman and a war crime to take children hostage. I just think it's inhuman and a war crime to murder children by any means, including indiscriminate bombing. Even in "war" - which btw this never was.
