3. It's the right question. Tariffs are a horrible way to fund anything. But that isn't actually the point....

For many--if not most--Americans, the message of, "no more income taxes," is all they will hear--and they will support it. The how is meaningless. They will support DOGE when they hear the "dividend" idea. People voted on lower taxes and the price of eggs. You can be sure they will get one of those two things because it is the only thing Rs actually do when in office--regardless of the fiscal sanity of it all....
