(4,527 posts)But that is a far cry from claiming that the kids celebrated other kids' deaths, isn't it?
Note that the video is missing a helpful translation. As would be the case if they were chanting "Death to Israel" or some such.
For all we know the kids could be chanting "Get off our land" or "You tried to kill us but we're still here" or "Hey, Netanyahu, soaked in blood, hope you burn in hell" - things along those lines, you know.
And the fact remains that those kids may be on that podium - as you helpfully pointed out - but 18,000 other kids are dead.
The other fact is that kids are kids, and those kids endured 15 months of pure hell - as far as I'm concerned they deserve our love and support, no matter how old or their level of "comprehension" - which, being kids, is dependent on what they have been exposed to. NOT THEIR FAULT.
I'm always saddened to see that Palestinian kids are not even allowed to be children - when they are not being used as props for propaganda, starved, abducted and imprisoned, or for target practice and weapons testing.
Compare that to how Israeli children's lives are treated - with love, light, care - the proper, moral way, as it should be.
There is a vast ocean between the two and I find that extremely unjust and disturbing. It needs to change.
