14. Social Security projections

say that there should be sufficient money to pay full benefits until 2035. But these projections are predicated on a normal labor market, because benefits are mostly paid from the payroll taxes paid by workers and employers. I worry that a) Trump could set off a severe recession that could last for years, which would lower the amount that was being paid into Social Security; and b) during the next few years it will be necessary to make adjustments to Social Security and during at least some of this period the party which wants to privatize Social Security is going to be in power.
