58. One of the most joyous moments in my life

was when hubby and I both were working on gov't contracts and he actually had good money coming in... and I was saving most of it. During this time, the plays CATS and The Lion King came to one of the theaters. Not only was I able to go and take in two plays I really loved... but I was able to buy my Mom and my sister tickets so we could make it a girl's night out and really enjoy ourselves. To me, that's what excess money is for. It's not the "things" you can buy, but the experiences it allows you to share with others.

I've never wanted a hell of a lot of money. All I want is enough to meet my monthly financial obligations (including paying off credit cards each month when they come in), some set aside for unexpected medical and vet bills, a little to donate to the local animal rescue here in town, and a little to just have "fun" with. I'm a woman of small expectations and desires... and it takes very little to make me happy. I'm so far away from these multi-billionaires that there's no way to bridge the gap in understanding.
