29. The biggest problem with all this is that the lack of vaccines

will encourage mutations throughout the population. The open viruses especially like SARS, MERS etc.will mutate and spread uninhibited and with greater speed. Closed viruses like the flu will do the same though likely at a slower rate. It's those SARS/MERS viruses that have the possibility of wiping out hundreds of millions, even billions. Then there's Smallpox which killed large portions of the human race in ancient times. It is on it's way back already. Tuberculosis is coming back, another bacterium needing more antibiotics. Add the antiB resistant staph among others, the list goes on.
Even with all the science we've had at our disposal, it was an uphill climb ahead of us. But now ... it's hard to grasp what's ahead of us now.
