Combined with zero sum thinking.
Then along comes a cult leader, carnival barker, flim-flam artist who uses words that seem to promise to make their lives easier, more rewarding, and do their thinking for them, while tackling those that stand in their way.
Trump: He rode into town on a white horse named Deceit, and all the peasants applauded him . . .
"Peasants? Fooled you!" says Trump as he rides his horse through the White House gates, "I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to Important People!"
Trump strongly believes in the zero sum thing - take from the peasants, give to the Important People.
What's that saying? It's a club, and you and I aren't in it!
Your house is being demolished to provide bricks for the castles of the Important People.
