(22,815 posts)The effort part is a variable depending on the person. For example, some people might not be able to take the day off for a protest. Others might not not have transportation. Anxiety? Health? Childcare? A list like this can be made for any action item we could be taking. There are arguments made for the amount of impact, too, but that is a whole another discussion.
I think it is OK to call people to action. In fact, doing so is commendable. I submit, it is unhelpful to flippantly reduce their reasons for not participating in one or more activities as 'too much to ask;' one is inspiration, the other insinuation.
We all need to do what we can do, when we can do it, and how we can do it. I think we'd all be better off if we gave each other breaks rather than grief.
