3. Possibly. He clearly is. suffering. I don't think there is going to be ANY good that comes

from a conclave now (and that is a non-religious assessment of the impact a Pope CAN have). I hope I am wrong. Someone pointed out that most of the cardinals who would select his replacement were actually elevated to Cardinal by Pope Francis. Someone to the right of Ratzinger is the last thing the world needs right now in our efforts to push back the rise of fascists- and in the US, those who hide behind "religion" (including some perverted form of Catholicism) to promote fascist ideology.

But, yes, if the Pope does pass, all eyes worldwide turn to the Vatican and the famous (infamous? ) white smoke. Trump and his MAGAT enablers will truly hate that.
