(8,823 posts)You say that AOCs livestreams are pointless, that only her followers will see them. I point out she has over 8 million followers on Instagram. Then you say that didn't help her in electing Harris and bring up the vote in her district for Harris as proof. I mean it's non sequitur after non sequitur.
She is one of the most continually engaged Congresspersons. She has about 10,000 on her live stream now. I think it was around twenty thousand earlier. She just ended. She has these lives regularly. You should check them out. Follow her on Instagram and TikTok. Follow Congressman Green, too. I just did. He has about 28,000 followers on IG.
Funny thing is that AOC and Al Green have the same number of posts on Instagram but AOC has about 280 times as many followers. A close look at their posts kind of reveals why. Al Greens Instagram posts are mostly reposts of his twitter posts, whereas AOC's posts are videos of her testimony, speeches, committee hearings, and topical content made specifically for IG and TikTok, where she discusses her views on camera.
Now Al Green might gain a few thousand more followers after tonight, but people will lose interest if all he does is link his twitter posts.
AOC's not showing at the SOTU IS a protest. People notice that, too, but that isn't all she is doing. She has been continually engaged since she started. And she certainly has been at the forefront of opposing trump. Go check out her IG feed and look at some of her videos.
