119. Allowing the continuing resolution to pass is bad.
Thu Mar 13, 2025, 10:25 PM
Mar 2025

Allowing a government shutdown right now is bad.

Both options, in fact, are spectacularly bad. Both options lead to government as we know it to come to an end. Shutting the government down would, in my opinion, accelerate the destruction. Allowing the CR to pass permits a slower chaos.

We're at the twilight of the great American experiment with democracy. Shutting down the government brings the darkness more quickly. Allowing the CR to pass gives us a little time to keep fighting. Even if that fight is doomed, I prefer the latter.

I know this is an unpopular opinion hereabouts right now. But I think we're at a "damned if we do, fucked if we don't" point for America. I think Schumer et al had no choice.
