For years Demos like Schumer are so worried about what the American people might think, perceive, feel, etc to the point of being overly cautious, aftraid to fight back, worried about popularity (even when the position is overwhelmingly support by polling), afraid to appear “too partisan” afraid to “go negative” in campaigns and on and on thinking that the American public will reward them for being the nice guys. It hasn’t happened. Americans care about wins and loses.

On the other hand, Republicans understand that they can advance any agenda they want, and in merely a 24 hour news cycle the average American will be on to something else. Whenever there are strong Democrats that are willing to fight or not allow themselves to be neutered (which Gore did because they allowed him to believe he was *too aggressive* and ended up going easy with Geedubya in the debates etc). Etc etc. It’s Lucy and Charlie Brown with the ball. Then when we do get the fighters, like AOC or Al Franken, or CouumoC Schumer and his counterpart make sure to neuter them with the furry you’d have hoped they’d reserve for the opposite side. Bananas
