5. I've totally fucked myself with SS

Since I've been married, I've used my maiden name as my middle name. I got my ss card with my given middle name. When I tried to register online to get into my account, I was told I don't exist as a ss recipient. SS uses driver's licenses as photo ID, and mine has my maiden name as my middle name, so I truly don't exist as, say, Mary Jones Smith, instead of Mary Ann Smith.

Fortunately, I'm due to get a new picture taken for my license, so I've taken my birth certificate out of the safe deposit box and plan to take it with me when I get my new license so I can get my given middle name put on my driver's license. I hope this will solve my problem.

Completely self-inflicted. I remember when my grandmother died and there were similar problems with life insurance. As a teenager, she had changed her name (not formally) from Jane Ellen to Ella Jean. When will we learn.
