A tangible idea for contributing something of meaning to the citizens of Newtown [View all]

I was watching Rachel Maddow tonight and it was mentioned that is possible that the school where the shooting occurred will never open again. Then, an idea hit me:

What better expression of the nation's support than setting up a nationwide fund to collect money to find a new location to build a new school for the surviving students, dedicated to the memory of the angels and teachers who lost their lives. A brand new school with none of the painful memories associated with the pain of this horrible nightmare. Any remaining money in the fund could be used to set up scholarships. A brand new beginning for the living students and their parents.

The site of the old school could be demolished and a city park built as a memorial.
