53. IMHO, A key difference between bashing and criticizing fairly

Is a basic one used in performance reviews.

Fair reviews focus on observable behavior: “X rarely speaks out”; “Y voted for a certain bill” etc.

When you speak negatively about something you can’t see happen, but are inferring it, such as a trait or personality characteristic, you may be bashing: “A is untrustworthy (annoying, lazy, dense, etc.)”; “B is a DINO”, etc.
