But I'm not so sure it is for a lot of the most serious cases of paranoia.

I say this because I've known a lot of people that fall into this category and I've come to the conclusion that they are suffering from a psychological disorder that may stem from genetics, and are, for all intents and purposes, unreachable. Fortunately they are a small minority and need to be pushed to the fringe where they belong when it comes to making policy decisions. Unfortunately, the likes of FOX, Rush, Beck, et al make it seem as though they constitute mainstream thought and stoke the fire of this vocal and unstable minority.

The article absolutely nails these psychopaths...it's been my experience that many of them DO have wet fantasies about having to defend themselves against a "tyrannical government" or blow away an intruder in their home just to give them the opportunity/excuse to use their guns. They get off on the thought.
