While it is great that Dems are showing up in repuke districts giving town halls they are doing it all wrong [View all]
I love that they are doing it. But here's the skinny. The ones showing up leave and are never heard from again in that district. Why the hell aren't they showing up and bringing along a candidate that is going to run against the repuke in that district in 26. This is the type of disorganization that is killing us. I dont care if it's a ruby red district that say Chris Murphy does a town hall in because a chickenshit repuke won't. Bring a candidate on stage with him, put a body up there that can even moderately speak, introduce the person to the crowd and let them also speak about our agenda and how bad they are getting lied to and screwed. After the established Democrat leaves the person that will be running for that office will have an instant platform and head start. The money spent to get that rep into and setup the town hall will be a 2 for one. I don't get it. Right now our reps show up, the press brags about it, then it's over and trust me with attention spans of minutes rampant across the populace, especially in red districts, that visit is quickly forgotten. Are we waiting until the last minute to put up candidates? WTF?
We are missing a huge chance here to introduce candidates to the public using our established reps and Senators as the initial draw. Leadership in this party needs to get their shit together fast. I'm hot as hell over this complete waste of time. It doesn't work if you pack up and leave an empty tent.
