5. Personally, I think it's more that he comes off as weak and uncertain.

He certainly seems fake-- I can't argue with that. He seems like a gameshow host.

But Republicans cheer for transparently fake charlatans all the time. It doesn't get much more phoney than Newt Gingrich feigning indignation at questions of his personality amorality and utter hypocrisy-- but they loved that. He delivered it forcefully and smugly and they ate it up.

Right wingers worship strength, and that's really it. Everything else is bullshit, and they drop it the moment it's inconvenient.

What Romney needs is a voice and acting coach. He always seems self-conscious and almost frightened. It comes through in his voice and posture.
