In reply to the discussion: Trump's House of Cards is collapsing. [View all]Torchlight
(6,876 posts)81. Over the past decade, my predictions have been more often wrong than right.
From the Brexit vote to Trump winning the GOP primaries, I've learned not to place too much faith in my own forecasts. The future is unknown he might undergo more hormone therapy, he might suffer a stroke, he might overreach and finally face consequences, or he might even win the lotto.
However, there is a steady, consistent (and obvious) buildup of grassroots pushback. If there's no outlet for that pressure to release, his future could take on a distinctly Faustian turn. History offers a harsh lesson to those who ignore the will of the public for too long or too arrogantlysooner or later, that pressure finds its release. And when it does, it tends to crush whatever stood in its way.

I don't disagree. It all comes down to the Republican voters putting pressure on the Republican Congress.

Trump is part of the axis of right wing authoritarian leaders around the world. Like Orban, the voters can't remove him.
