Right now, Repubs are safe because trump has power and fear going on. But, if musk spilled the beans, you don't know who might see voting against trump as a viable defensive move. We have never done this before, never been there.

If trump were not the true President, how does impeachment apply here? Impeachment applies to a legitimately elected official who is dirty dealing. But, if you ain't the real President anyway, then I think it could be argued that impeachment doesn't apply. It's the same as an insurrectionist taking over. We arrest those guys.
