(7,955 posts)the only party that has (for quite a while) offered a radical change is the Republican party. Now, I agree that Democrats have more to offer the average person and families. But they don't get the message out. It's like they're totally without passion and have given up the ghost, in general. I make an exception for Harris' campaign; and I don't think we lost. I think we were robbed and I don't care who screams at me for saying it. She DID generate passion and power. This country is just so f*cked up we're never gonna get a woman president. We actually got a black guy in office... but hell, no... no way is there gonna be a woman. UNLESS that woman is a hardcore republican who can toe the line between submissive and empowering. Anyway, between Hillary and Harris, I actually thought I might see a female prez before I die. Now, I figure there's no way in this country.
People have been conditioned to reject progressive ideas. But, if you don't tell them where an idea came from or who said what about it, they'll inevitably want whatever it is you're talking about. We've been talking about how do we recondition all these magas out of their cult and back into reality. Well... we've got a bigger problem than that. How do we recondition half of the nation away from hate and back towards cooperation and civilization? I swear, although I can see and agree with all the problems it raises, I'd much rather see the nation split in two and deal with those repercussions. People are exhausted emotionally and physically. They tired of the hopelessness of day to day life. They don't see a future that's good for them or their kids in this country. Unless, I guess, you're a right-wing talibangelical. But who wants that? Talk about no fun... ever!
