We have so many important efforts we can donate to, from pro-choice orgs to women’s orgs to antiracist groups to environmental/conservation (this is the worst funded of all types of nonprofit). The arts are a luxury for people who are so comfortable that they can afford to donate purely for pleasure while others are losing health care, being abducted off the streets, or even dying.
